Atlassian Account
Overview –
I led the design of the migration process for 60 million Trello accounts to Atlassian accounts, unlocking significant value for all users. The project entailed various core experiences, covering login and signup, email management, and account switching, to list a few.
Context –
Before Trello was acquired by Atlassian, Trello users were able to have multiple email addresses under a single account. They could log in with any of them, including their username. Additionally, Trello and Atlassian were two different user sets. This migration would allow people to take full advantage of all Atlassian’s shared platform features.
For Atlassian, this migration would also reduce the friction for users to try or purchase other Atlassian products, and would significantly reduce the cost of development and maintenance.

Outcome –
This project stands out as one of the most demanding design challenges I've tackled in my career. It was a 2+ year-long project consisting of multiple phases, numerous teams, and innumerable compromises due to technical constraints across 2 large systems.
In the end, all 60 million Trello accounts were successfully migrated on schedule.
Any metrics? Support cases, social sentiment, conversion (2.5x), etc…
