Apps
Apple Notes
This is where I brain dump everything so I can organize later or share with my wife. I also use this as an extremely lightweight todo app.
iA Writer
Where I write drafts - mostly on my iPad. The focus/distraction-free modes are some of the best of any app. Just simple but powerful enough for my needs.
Hemingway
Where I bring all my drafts to edit.
Carrot Weather
IMO the best weather app. So much personality and quirky features. Built by an indie developer.
Vanilla
Helps me customize my menu bar to keep it minimal.
Rectangle
Simple window management. I only use a single monitor so this is one of my most frequently used apps.
Paste
Extremely handy clipboard manager. Don't know what I would do without this app.
Hand Mirror
Really great app to check your webcam view before jumping on a video meeting (Zoom, Meet, etc…)
Sketch
I use Figma at work but it just has so much stuff that I wouldn't ever need for my personal projects. On top of that, it's just an extremely polished app and a joy to use because it actually is a mac native app.
Nova
My code editor of choice. Love all Panic apps and this one is no different.
Ride With GPS
Route planner and activity tracking for hiking, cycling, etc…
Muse
When I'm exploring a new concept, idea, etc… this is where I brainstorm and capture everything.
Darkroom
Where I do quick photo edits on my phone.
Halide
When I need extra control than the default camera app can offer.
Gaia
I use this to explore and map out new hiking trails or plan routes for my moto and camping trips. It's gotten a little more annoying since Outside acquired them. I use the web app for planning and mobile out 'in the field.'
Flighty
I don't really travel as frequently as I used to but this app was always so nice to use and updates much more quickly than the actual airline apps.
